Defining Technological Requirements

Sometimes communicating the problem is the problem. How can you get help for technological issues if you can’t even find words to describe the problem you’re experiencing? Technical staff aren’t always on the same vocabulary wavelength as the rest of us. For times like these, let Guntherman be your technology translator. Examples:

Technology Problem Definition

You say, “the system’s slow.” Tech support responds with, “Which system? What’s slow? How do you know it’s slow? Did you do a hard reset?” Your vendor’s reply: “How do you know it’s our problem? Maybe it’s your router. Try cycling the modem and see what happens.”
